A Royal (Uniting) Wedding!

To be honest, I was more interested in the running gadgets that I can buy online than the royal wedding that fascinated almost 2 billion people in the world. This was the case before I turn on the TV and watch it. And what I concluded is something that almost 50 million Britons and 200 million Europeans considered only in the first minutes of the royal event.
I simply believe that the event was the most successful attempt to unify the nation in the last decade. I have not seen so many cheered people, enjoying being British and being happy for their royalties. This was a great day for the British people simply because it brought together almost all people in the country. I saw a nice, young British lady and her four children playing randomly with people from across the country, quickly making friends and colourfully discussing the day.
But this was only on national level. I was impressed to see Arab royal families present in the Westminster Abbey – something that I have not imagined I would see quite soon. Given the strictness of religious worship that these people follow, seeing them singing “Jerusalem” along with the choir of the Westminster Abbey made me feel as if there is no division among people at the first place. I saw the French representatives, the ex Bulgarian monarchs, the descendants of the German royalties and the Austrian aristocrats at one place. What an amazing view was the incorporation of acceptance – it is actually the first time I see an Orthodox patriarch, a Roman cardinal and an Anglican priest sitting together and following the words of marriage between the newly wed prince and princess.
A good day to remember – if not for the wedding itself, at least for the great form of acceptance among people we all witnessed.
